One local ministry that Immanuel Church supports is YoungLives.  YoungLives is part of and is overseen by the Young Life organization and is supported by many of the churches in this area.

YoungLives of Muskingum county

YoungLives is a Christian outreach to teen moms.  The director for YoungLives is Cheryl Reed (wife of pastor Mitch), who along with a team of volunteers, seeks to connect with teen girls faced with challenge of pregnancy and raising children.  YoungLives often uses Immanuel Church for their Bible studies and gatherings, and the church also supports their work by providing childcare helpers.

The goal of YoungLives is to introduce young people to Christ and his teachings.  Currently there are a group of young mothers, mostly from Foxfire High School, meeting regularly in the church lounge to study the bible and discuss how Christ can enrich their lives as well as their baby's lives.  YoungLives provides Christian women as mentors to the young girls to guide them through their challenges and point them toward faith in Christ.  Another aspect of YoungLives is the summer camp trip to a Young Life camp.  In 2010 four girls (and their babies) attended camp, and three of which expressed their desire to accept Christ into their lives.

YoungLives is a subset of Young Life.  To learn more about YoungLives go to the website, younglife.org or e-mail the director Cheryl Reed at cheryl.younglives@gmail.com
